I am not a designer.
Well, to be perfectly honest, I’m not a lot of things. But what I am is someone who knows what they love, even if they can’t afford it. To illustrate, witness a conversation between me and E, about a painting I want for Valentine’s day.
Me: I really want that painting. It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Him: But it’s really expensive.
Me: Most paintings are expensive.
Him: But everything you like is expensive.
Me: I told you I had a high upkeep cost. Besides, you like expensive things.
Him: Name one.
Me: Me.
Him: True. We’ll see.
Most nights, we sit in bed with our laptops, watching TV, reading our feeds (we like to multitask), and while he’s reading about news and tech stuff, I’m reading tech and handmade. And I’m often saying “oh, I want that” and “ooh look at how awesome.” And then I’m thinking, hey that would make a great present, if only E would remember that I want it.
And then I thought (and I should really stop thinking) hey! I could make my own design blog and show people what I love, because I love it. Really really really love it.
